Has anyone else read the cover story on Doug Tagsold's 1/72 scale C&S Clear Creek District in the new MRP? Very neat way to model and way to think outside the box.
FWIW, a creative approach to narrow gauge modeling. A bit of model narrow gauge trivia, if anyone has access to the October 1962 issue of MR there is an article by Harry Gill, (not to be confused with Harry Brunk), who modeled in Tn3 scale / gauge combination of 1/55 scale using HO gauge track which works out to almost 36 inch gauge track. (I'll spare everyone the math!) It was a creative and cheap approach to narrow gauge modeling at the time that employed HO mechanisms and parts and scratch building to model 3 foot narrow gauge railroads. It never gained much of a following but was an interesting idea. Examples that could be used included the Mantua 4-6-0, Bachmann undersize for 1/48 scale 4-4-0 and the early over size PFM geared locomotives. Back to our regular programing.
There has been some modeling in this scale recently but I believe it goes under the name 55n3.There has been quite a bit of material on the internet about it.
I keep seeing when I do a google search is links to some suspicious website that says it is for 55n3 but I am leery of clicking the link, but the premise for 55n3 is neat.
Let me guess.......you have .....MCAFEE!!!!!........BIG BROTHER is watching you.Way back in the good old days you could get Pacific Coast Air Lines and other 55n3 sites without MCAFEE and their clones censoring it.There was a wealth of info. Some of those jokers have even tried to brand C&Sn3 and Nabble as a "dangerous" site.If I sound like a 55n3 fanatic,I'm not-I'm an On3 fanatic.I just don't like ''This week in unnecessary censorship"!
