Jefferson Depot's new owners and website

Kurt Maechner
Here is a post with a review of the old South Park's Jefferson Depot's new owners and their website.  I haven't been there since 2003, so I'd love to hear from any of you who have visited in recent years.  It's so good to see it still alive and in use.  Maybe someday Klondike Kate and the Como tracks will reach Jefferson once again?!

Enjoy,
Kurt

ComoDepot
I was there last weekend, Cynthia was doing a fund raiser Saturday am.

The Depot was open, seems like they have closed the Caboose? I was told that they were going to stay open through the winter, not sure anybody has tried to do that since the Railroad days. Presumably they have insulated the building. Used to be a seasonal Realtor office.

I doubt CDOT will be interested in moving US 285.

Is 285 on top of the grade or does it parallel it?  In Google Earth it appears to be north of 285.

Parallels it at least around Jefferson (and I think all the way to Como).

285 crosses the grade twice near Como and then stays to the east and sort of merges through Jefferson finally crossing again just short of Kenosha.

Hwy 8 stayed to the east between Como and Jefferson.

Should be reasonably clear on Google Earth.
