Is IRCA 40 back on the Loop?

Kurt Maechner
I read a Trains article in 2017 stating that IRCA 40 was coming back to run on the Loop for 2018.  40 was a regular loco on the GLRR during the Ashby management of the Loop and I was surprised to hear that it would be making its way back.  Does anyone know if this came to fruition?

Yes 40 is indeed back in Silver Plume, undergoing an overhaul and should be in service next year.

Thanks, Jason.  Out of curiosity, do you know if it was a problem to get it back to the loop?  From what I read back in the mid-2000s, there was a lot of unhappiness between the CHS and the Ashby management.  Since the Ashbys owned #40, I didn't think they would be thrilled to let it return to the loop after all the trouble that went on back then.  Although, if I recall, wasn't 40 donated to the CRRM?  None of this is meant to be political, I'm honestly just curious.
