Maybe a mile or so after passing the Baldwin Mine you will come to a cattle guard and a place to park horse trailers.Look up on the mountain in front of you and you'll see the Rock Wall.Up the road a ways you'll come to a rest stop that is the place the road now follows the grade for about a mile Follow it until you see the grade branching off to the right of the road- look up and there's the Rock Wall.
Thanks for the details. Those will be really helpful. I have to convince my family to drive another couple of hours to go to see it the day after we will probably have driven 6-8 hours to get to Pitkin! We'll see how that goes! :)
After you have passed the Carbon Creek road and are travelling west on the road towards Ohio Pass look up on the mountainside and you will see a cabin in a small meadow before plunging into the trees which meet up with the RR grade. If you look carefully you can see grade scar not to far from where the cabin is.Contact Larry Green and David Primus for info .
Larry Green would be the man to contact .He lives in the area and might even be able to show you some things up in the area. While you are in the area look for the ghost town site of Irwin.
