Did C&S Combine #23 Survive?

The claim has been made on the NGDF that #23 was sold by Herr-Rubicon to the Salt Lake& Mercur R.R.,but was later wrecked on that line.The photo of the SL&M car in the thread"New Postcard" doesn't resemble photos of  C&S 23,but it has a slight C&S family resemblance

Mal Ferrell just posted a note on NGDF saying further research indicates the SL&M car is NOT C&S 23.
