The 2017 NNG convention in Denver begins next Wednesday evening.
Who from the Discussion Forum will be attending? I'd like to meet as many of you as possible, to put faces with the names. Perhaps we can find a time one evening to get together for drinks? A C&Sn3 happy hour, perhaps? How about you, South Park--you coming?

I plan to drive up from New Mexico. Maybe bring along some spare brass for trading. Would love to meet some of the folks from here.

Unless I missed it you can not just go for the day, DSP&P HS will have a stand. They are having their convention this weekend based in Golden, and of course Tom this evening in Bailey.

Wishing I could be there. It has been about 15 years since I made it to one.
I guess that is what happens when you have 3 active kids with lots of activities to attend. Best, Todd Ferguson |

A "daily pass" to the event is available at $50 per day.
Gerry Cole - planing to attend |
Thanks, seems the events are focussed to the evening so not really practical for me.

I will be there Wed - Sat. I will have the first laser cuttings (in wood) of the 26ft., 27ft. and 30ft. South Park boxcars in 1:48 scale. I will be building them up at The Leadville Shops table. Stop by and help out but bring your own tweezers! Mike Trent has inspired me with his fantastic passenger cars (not to mention all of his other work) and as a consequence I will also have along my in progress laser cut Rowmark acrylic plastic 1908 On3 C&S Leadville passenger train using modified San Juan styrene roofs. The first consist is Baggage/RPO #13 (before rebuild), Coach #62 (former Pullman sleeper) and Business car #910 (also a former Pullman Palace sleeper as it appeared before it's 1911 rebuild). I will also have along Baggage car #1, Baggage/RPO #12 and coaches #70, 75 and 77 as works in progress. Those crazy rounded Baggage doors on Baggage/RPO #12 I had computer printed at 0.01 resolution and are crazy cool. None of these "in progress" plastic On3 C&S passenger car models are proposed kits but rather for my c. 1908 C&S On3 operations. I hope to have two Leadville trains as well as enough RPO/coach & coaches for the occasional fish train up Platte Canyon. Hope to see everybody there. Bob Sent from my iPhone

Robert:
I went to your website and loved it. Just one question though. Do you produce any On3 kits for either the DSP&P or C&S? I built Labelle passenger car kits years ago. Love them to this day. Had some CN&W Equipment that was Labelle Pullman coaches.wish I still had them. One of the last things I built was a Labelle kit before joining the navy in '70 Fred Cotterell.. P. S. How is the convention going?

As I'm taking off a few days over in Dickey, I'll probably see y'all in Leadville Thursday. Them Boulder Engines ought to all be in good shape, they sure were the last time I had them over here. So, should be a great day. If not, it's not my fault, blame Keith!
PS, watch that independent air on #75, she bleeds a little. Always has. Maybe Keith has it fixed, but I doubt it. Bon told me to let you know not to get any flat spots on the drivers of his #76 like last time. He's still peeved over that, but you know how he is..... |

Oh yes Mike. The Oshier clan has always been a cantankerous bunch. I've learned how to handle them.
See you tomorrow. |

===================================== It sounds like an evil idea that I would enjoy. Making time for it is another matter. Let me say this, ... I am not a modeler, except in 12":1' scale. But I have modeled in my distant past and really appreciate fine modeling with a HEAVY appreciation for the history behind the original story. The South Park/C&S crowd seems remarkably in tune with these concepts, with a pleasant absence of the overly nerdy personality types so common with model railroad people. This forum is like a refreshing drink of cool water for my soul with all the historical intel and photos being passed back and forth. The modeling that members often present to the group is truly amazing. I would love to buy a round and put faces to names, etc. Will it happen any time soon ? No. I have a house to finish building and a few other large ticket items to get squared away before I am free to galavant off to distant places just for the fun of it. I just got back from a 4-day fling in the mountains of Montana .... digging/hunting old phone lines (of course). This is my annual ritual to refill the happy tank of my soul. Now it is a mad rush to get business taken care of before the snows make work hard. Next year, probably not. The following ? Maybe. If you are coming through Spokane, drop me a line.
