From the Park County Colorado offices it is noted that the Union Pacific Coal Company/REM Petroleum company has the mineral rights to 60.11 acres "under" the town of Como. In Colorado surface rights and mineral rights may be owned by two different parties. Also Union Pacific Land Resources owns 1242 acres east of Como and King along Elkhorn road. This 1242 acres is valued at $679,658 with taxes at $11045. This land is "open" range land . The mineral rights at Como are valued at $301 with a tax $5. All a bit of history today!
