Re: Garos Section House

Park County Archives photo of Garos.  Perhaps the same building?

And in this view of the General Store, the mountains also look the appropriate scale to match the image of the section house:

Comparing the  dimensions of the South Platte and Estabrook section houses contained in Cliff Mestel's compilation of the South Park's buildings. to the ones at Como ,Garos, and Buffalo, they seem to be the same

Re: Other similar section houses

ComoDepot
Pretty sure I would not have said to go down south of Como without asking. Certainly my experience has been that if you ask then most people are pretty amenable. The land south of Como is in the Hurst Trust, the guy looking after it Mark has been replaced by another Mark who I have talked to but do not know as well as the original Mark. Joe Hurst's father built the fire pit in the Hotel Dining Room.

The story I was told was the water there was much better for Boilers, not sure why as the same ditch ran across the top.

Begs the question as to when the Water Tank was put there, do not remember it showing in the early photo's.

There was a story that the section hose was a very active location during prohibition.
