Folks have argued with me before because I have tried to point out that the office extension to the Como depot was not an extension at all. Only thought to be so because of the replaced roof over a part of it.
It will have been built before the main building was added it. Against the DSP&P hotel before the kitchen extension was added and the depot had to be moved aside. But lets not go there directly, just yet.

It is this frame in the photo dumped behind the depot that has been puzzling me for many years that I had to understand what it was. And then the answer came. It was removed from the roof of the depot.

It was here where I have drawn it in. In this elevation.
Same angle as the pitch of the roof. Correct hight representing the office roof ridge beam.

In the plan of the Como depot below I have drawn in where the roof frame was located in the office roof as per the previous elevation photo.
Also marked (A), I have pointed out where rafters had to be cut and have blocks inserted to maintain the structural integrity of the frame.
I also point out in (B), that the presumed first additions rafters are not running in the same direction of those in the main depot but are running in the same direction as what is presumed to be the second extension.

How did I get these plans? David Tomkins provided these to me so that I may provide insight into the history of Como and the Como depot. I have 100% understanding that the Como depot in its entirety was build against the first stage of the DSP&P hotel. From recycled buildings.
And I also understand that the first Como depot was located south side of the Engine house water tank which is the reason engine house was then built where it was.
It also explains why the first recorded distance between Denver and Como was initially longer and then shortened.
And it also explains why early descriptions of Como placed the Post office and Ice house north of the depot. That would be on the other side of the water tank. That beautiful flat ground where there was nothing there except rubble that looks like it was dumped on a platform, and immediately below the town centre.
