C&S #9 on the Georgetown Loop

Todd Hackett
Going over some old photos, I came across my photos and video of C&S #9 running on the loop on the Fourth of July 2006. My camera at the time wasn't very good for video, but I posted what I took here on YouTube.

These are grand photos! Well done!
Thanks for posting the video too. I'm often surprised how little video I can find of No. 9 on the Loop, so the more the better.

You probably won't find a lot of video of anything from that time period. Not a lot of people had dedicated video cameras (and those were generally VHS, with even lower resolution than the 640x480 resolution of the camera I was using - a Sony DCS-828). Some point-and-shoot cameras could take low-res videos, but better cameras didn't take videos. HD video with 1080 pixel resolution came out around that time, but very few people would have had it while #9 was running, and that wasn't available on most cameras for a while. Even the Olympus E-5 (two camera after the Sony for me) only supported 1280x720 (technically HD, but still not great), and that came out in 2010. The E-3 I had in between (which came out in 2007) didn't take video. Now tiny action cameras support 8k video, but that's very recent.
