C&S #71 Video

Doug Tagsold
I stumbled across this new video on YouTube this weekend.  It is a video mainly about Harry Brunk's HOn3 layout now in the Cheyenne museum.   At 8 minutes into the video, there is a nice segment of video this person shot of C&S No 71 and combine #20 running
in Central City.  I think this is well worth the time to check out.

Great stuff!  Good tour of Harry Brunk's layout too.

By the way, there has been recent discussion of #71 and its ownership on another thread, and earlier in this video you will see that there are (or were?) TWO #71's in Central City-  the real one, and another one in front of a casino that is an outside frame engine from somewhere else that's got a 71 painted on it.

The fake #71 is owned by the casino. And they are welcome to it.

In my pipe dream world what if we put the Mexican 71 in the pavilion in Breckenridge and the moved the 9 to Como?

Could 9 be repaired and run again?

Hi Robert,
Jason Midyette's One Short Season book, chronicling No. 9's restoration to operation and return to display makes the case that she won't ever run again.  It's a shame (though I suppose we should never say never).  Unfortunately, she didn't have the tractive effort to pull the regular length of trains upgrade on the Loop anyway.
