I'd consider it a personal favor if y'all would support Bill and buy castings from him. My friend could easily be the Swede Norlen  of the 21st Century - focused on DSP&P, CC, early D&RG and C&S! Custom pattern work, extraordinaire. Come on; ya'll want quality modeling, support your local craftsman...

Thanks D. At the risk of tooting my own horn - TOOOOOOOOT! - the 1905 casting is a D. Poole design using ACAD 3D. Also the part was largely funded by my friend and client Dana Bassett! ThanK you, Dana!! Huge kudos to Bill for his excellent craftsmanship!

Thanks to all who reached out about the parts. I was pleasantly surprised how many people shared our interest in the early years of the DSP&P/C&S and even D&RG. I might offer up that if anyone is looking for special castings to speak up. We can make pretty much anything but it helps to spread out the molding costs whenever possible.

Swede Norlen. Believe it or not, one of my Great Aunts lived in McKracken Kansas. On one of my rare visits there, I had an opportunity to visit Swede at home. He was a true pioneer. Had it not been for the influence of Bob Stull in 1980, I probably would have tried my hand at Sn3. I guarantee you that I'd have made the jump to it if I were still in HOn3 when Overland brought out their #74.

Just going through the archives, and I've gone waaay back on this one. I bought one of Swede's C-16's in 1969 just before I went to Vietnam. It was not tender drive. I was a lieutenant in the Army and for once in my life had some disposable money, but not a lot. Swede offered C-16's in either Sn3 or Sn2 1/2 (?)(HO gauge). They cost $80 and weren't spectacular, but were wonderful in heavy brass. Unfortunately, when going through a divorce it vanished. He wrote me once while I was in Vietnam. Nice guy.
