Anyone know the source of this photo?

Kurt Maechner
Does anyone know the source of this photo? I got it from a DSP&P Society member, but neither of us know the source. I haven't been able to track it down on the Denver Public Library or elsewhere. I'm looking for a higher resolution than what I have.

I sure remember when it looked like that, and it could have been me in there, but it isn't. Probably late 50's.

Steve Schweighofer thought it was 1946. He's the one that had the photo.

I'm not going to argue, but the condition of that caboose is in mighty rough shape for having been on display for a relatively short time if that is from 1946. It actually looked like that in the early 60's and smelled like an outhouse.

Interesting they pulled off the steps. In Kurt's picture one is on, one is on the ground. It does look pretty tired in '41, maybe '46 is right after all. All the glass is present in '41. It's a miracle that it survived at all. But it looked no better the first time I saw it. I think some guys from the Shops in Denver came up in the 60's and painted it in Chinese Red. They painted #60 and #71 too, in Burlington livery.
