1969 C&S News - Steam returns to Central City! Reprints of DSP&P book-NO! and why

Kurt Maechner
I looked through the archive of the Rocky Mountain Rail Report, the newsletter of the Rocky Mountain Railroad Club and put a post together with some miscellaneous South Park Line/C&Sng news from the 1969 editions including:

The Central City Narrow Gauge Railroad became the first ever rebuilt C&Sng line in history.  It began hauling passengers for a partial season in 1968 and had its first full season in 1969.  Some info on the line, its aspirations, and Club activities there are mentioned.

When the Club printed Mac Poor's DSP&P book in 1949, only 1000 copies were printed.  It turned into a huge success and used copies were worth several hundred dollars.  Many clambered for the Club to print more copies due to the demand and the astronomical cost of getting ahold of used copies, but the Club refused.  In the December newsletter the newsletter editors, Kindig and Haley, explain why.

Enjoy,
Kurt

Note: No C&Sng-related information was found in the 1968 editions of the newsletter.
